American Humanics (AH) Certificate in Non-Profit Management
American Humanics is a national certificate program in nonprofit management and leadership for all academic majors. Based at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, the program includes coursework, service projects with a wide variety of nonprofit partners, internships, an active student association, training and networking opportunities including the annual American Humanics Management Institute.

Fundraising Minor--Department of Recreation, Park, & Tourism Studies
This program is open to any IU undergraduate and is beneficial for most any student who may work for or be associated with a non-profit organization. The courses are primarily taught by professionals currently in fundraising positions within the IU system.  Coursework begins with a thorough introductory class and quickly progresses into topics such as annual giving, capital campaigns, and development services.  Students completing this minor are prepared to understand current fundraising challenges and best practices.


LEAD IU--Academic Courses

LEAD IU provides participants with tools and resources to chart a path to leadership through curricular and co-curricular offerings. Academic courses, including Leadership and Community Service, are designed for all students, regardless of class standing.  

Leadership, Ethics, and Social Action (LESA) Minor
*Program merged with Political And Civic Engagement (PACE) certificate

Work with the greater Bloomington community is integral to the minor in Leadership, Ethics, and Social Action. The Capstone project- the most significant component of the minor- may be in any field, combined with any major. Civic engagement, academic and personal growth, and career development, are important aspects of the work of the minor. You will develop your voice and talents as you deepen your learning.

Political And Civic Engagement (PACE) Certificate

An interdisciplinary certificate program that combines course requirements with hands-on learning and co-curricular activities to develop a comprehensive understanding of American political and civic life and skills that you will need to fully participate in public life as an adult citizen. The PACE certificate requires 25 credit hours: required core courses, electives, a one-credit decision-making exercise, a mentored internship, a capstone seminar, and participation in various other activities outside the classroom, such as lectures, retreats, and roundtable discussions.
